Temple Isaiah

Music

The spirit of Temple Isaiah is embodied in our music. Joyous, soulful, religious, secular, vocal, instrumental, performed by young and old—music is key to expressing the heart of our community.

Services include traditional melodies, new settings of prayers and celebratory songs. Cantor Lisa Doob teaches these new settings and songs during the service so congregants may fully share in musical expression. Cantor Doob also places recordings of songs we sing and other melodies on this site so everyone can learn our musical liturgy.
Temple Isaiah has an adult choir and a children’s choir (Makelah). Please contact her if you would like to join us in song.
The music of our regular services is just one aspect of musical life, however. Each year we enjoy a Shabbat that is a special music event, and throughout the year, the Temple resounds with concerts by soloists and ensembles and numerous informal opportunities to sing. We embrace music as a form of personal expression in which all can participate and enjoy.

At Temple Isaiah everyone sings! While we use a variety of melodies in our prayers and songs, we've provided some samples of our "standard" melodies to help us be prepared to join in.
