Project Listing

Outdoor Cleanup

    1. Minuteman National Park, Concord (register now)
Raking, weeding and mulching at the park.
Project time: 10:30 -- 12:30 pm
Meet at Project Site
Ages: All

   2. Lexington Parks and Recreation  (register now)
Lexington Reservoir
Raking, weeding and clean up work.
Project time: 10:30 -- 12:30 pm
Meet at the Project site.
Ages: All

   3.    Habitat in Belmont  (register now)
Clean up trail area in the park.
Project time: 10:30 -- 12:30 pm
Meet at the Project site.
Ages: All

   4.   Waltham Community Farms, Waltham  (register now)
Help plant food for the needy.
Project time: 10:30 -- 12:30 pm
Meet at the Project site.
Ages: 11 years and up

    5.  Lexington Interfaith Community Gardens  (register now)
Help plant food for the needy. ONLY 4 PEOPLE.
Project time: 10:30 -- 12:30 pm
Meet at the Project site. Bring garden gloves.

    6.  Temple Grounds and Biblical Garden  (register now)
Tend Temple Isaiah grounds and “Monica Weinstein Memorial Garden”
Project time: 10:15 -- 12:15 pm
Ages: 14 years and up

 

Cooking & Delivery

   7.   Sunday’s Bread  (register now)
Boston (Church of St. John on Beacon Hill)
Prepare & serve meals and clean-up.
Project time: 12:30-4:15 PM
Meet at the Project site.
Ages: Adults and teens accompanied by parents
  
   8.  Cooking at Temple Isaiah for Bristol Lodge Soup Kitchen and On the Rise   (register now)
Cooking will take place in the Temple kitchen.
Project Times:
Shift 1:  10:15 -- 11:15 am
Shift 2:  11:30 -- 12:30 pm
Ages: 4th grade and up
 

Crafts

  9.   Gift Bags and Snack Bags for Women’s Lunch Place  (register now)
Decorate and fill gift bags and make cards at Temple Isaiah.
Project time: 10:15 -- 11:30 am
Ages: Recommended for preschool and up

  10. Summer Baskets for Jewish Family Table  (register now)
Decorate buckets and fill them with summer fun items and goodies for children served by Jewish Family Table.
Project time: 10:15 -- 11:30 am.
Ages: Families who participate in the Mishpacha Program and families with Kindergarten and under are encouraged to participate.

  11. Welcome Baskets for Casa Nueva Vida  (register now)
Decorate and fill tote bags for homeless families at Temple Isaiah.
Project time: 10:15 am to 11:30 am.
Ages 7 and up
 
  12. Knitzvah -- Knitting items for the needy  (register now)
Do one of 3 knitting projects. Directions, instructions and yarn will be provided. Beginners are welcome.
Meet at the Temple.
Project time: 10:15 am to 12:15 pm
Ages: 4th grade and up

 

Teen Participation

  13.  Boston Food Bank (register now)
Sorting and packing food. The Food Bank's contribution feed 545,000 needy in New England every year.
Time: Bus will leave from Temple Isaiah at 10 am
Ages: 14 and up

 

Visiting

  14.  Pine Knoll Nursing Home, Lexington (register now)
Visiting and activities with the residents.
Meet at the project site.
Project time: 10:30 -- 12:30
Ages: All
 
 15.   Chestnut Park at Cleveland Circle  (register now)
Visitors join Temple musicians to entertain residents at assisted living center.
Meet at the project site.
Project time: 2:15 pm -- 4:00 pm
Ages: All

 

Temple Projects

 16.   Temple Library Project  (register now)
Help with inventory.
Project time: 10:15 -- 12:15 pm
Ages: Adults
 
 17.   Cleaning the Torah Scroll (register now)
Working with a trained person to clean our torah scroll.
Location: Temple Isaiah
Project time: 10:15 -- 12:15 pm
Ages: 13 and up
Note: Not appropriate for participants with allergies to dust and mold.
