Knitzvah (knitting)

Knitzvah
a component of Hineini: The Temple Isaiah Caring Community

The Knitzvah group meets on Sunday and weekdays to make warm shawls or throws, as gifts of comfort for Temple Isaiah members who need a caring lift. We also make baby blankets for our Temple baby welcoming baskets.

Both experienced and new knitters/crocheters are welcome. You can drop in any time. We can provide a few sample patterns (or you can bring your own). Bring your implements of choice and a few balls of yarn from your stash to use. Need knitting needles? We have a selection you can look over and borrow for your project. If you have machine washable and machine dryable yarn or needles to contribute to this project, or are in need of materials let us know. Our preference is to use non-wool yarn to avoid a problem with potential allergies.

In order to accommodate the varied schedules of our Knitzvah members, we schedule both weekend and weekday meetings. Each group (weekday or weekend) schedules the meeting time/place for the next meeting - and will advise you of the location by e-mail.

Join us for a time of conversation, knitting, and fulfilling the Mitzvah of caring for those in our community.

To join a group or to learn more just contact one of our Knitzvah leads, Harriet Silverman, Elizabeth Elkins or Suzanne Frank. They will let you know the latest meeting dates.
